Cookies and similar technologies let this site remember your preferences and, if you agree, help us understand how it is used. This page lists what is actually set when you visit.

What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. Related technologies — local storage and session storage — work in much the same way. We use the word “cookies” below to cover all of them.
Your choice
Analytics cookies are only set if you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Decline, or make no choice, none are set and no analytics scripts are loaded. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie preferences button at the bottom left of every page.
Strictly necessary
These make the site work and are always on. They do not identify you.
- seopress-user-consent-accept / seopress-user-consent-close (cookie) — remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, for 180 days, so the banner does not ask again on every page.
- rc-theme (local storage) — remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.
- rc_chatbot_state_v1 (session storage) — keeps your conversation with the website assistant while the tab is open. It is cleared when you close the tab.
- Session and security cookies — set by WordPress only if you log in to administer the site.
Analytics (only with your consent)
These help us see which pages are useful and where people get stuck. They are set by third parties and only after you accept.
- _ga, _ga_<id> (Google Analytics 4) — distinguish one visitor from another and record how the site is used. Typically expire two years after your last visit. Google’s privacy policy.
- Google Tag Manager — loads our analytics tags. It does not set cookies of its own, and it is only loaded after you accept.
- _clck, _clsk and related identifiers (Microsoft Clarity) — Clarity records how pages are used, including mouse movement, scrolling and clicks, to produce heatmaps and session playback. Its data is processed by Microsoft (clarity.ms and bing.com). Microsoft’s privacy statement.
What we do not use
We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels on this site, and we do not sell the data these cookies produce.
Managing cookies
Use the Cookie preferences button to change your choice on this site. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, and both analytics providers offer their own controls: Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on, and Clarity can be disabled by blocking clarity.ms. Blocking strictly necessary storage will mean the site forgets your theme and your cookie choice between visits.
