Background
Simonds Homes is one of Australia’s largest national builders, delivering thousands of homes each year across Victoria, NSW, South Australia, and Queensland. With complex compliance requirements and high customer expectations, Simonds places strong emphasis on ensuring the accuracy and buildability of every design before it moves into production.
For more than four years, Realcognita has supported Simonds’ front-end operations, working closely with internal leaders including Rob Williams (Design Hub) and Thomas Chesworth (Sales Acceptance). Although Realcognita previously supported Simonds in production and estimating, the current partnership is firmly centred on the front-end compliance and assessment workflow, where speed, accuracy, and clear communication are critical.
The Challenge
With a highly competitive market and fluctuating volumes of incoming sales, Simonds needed a partner who could support its internal teams by:
- Assessing sales sketches and documentation for buildability and compliance
- Ensuring accuracy before files reached estimating or production
- Managing end-of-month surges when sales volumes spike
- Providing reliable turnaround times and transparent communication
- Operate as an extension of the local team, not a siloed offshore resource
Simonds had previously worked with other offshore providers, so expectations around capability, training quality, and integration were already well defined. What the business needed was consistency, learning agility, and a strong partnership culture.

The Realcognita Solution
Realcognita integrated into Simonds’ Sales Acceptance and Design Hub teams, supporting file assessments, compliance checks, and buildability reviews across multiple states.
The Realcognita team, primarily led by Luchie and Annabelle, and supported by internal drafting specialists work closely with Rob and Thomas to:
- Review and validate sales sketches
- Ensure pricing accuracy and design feasibility
- Adapt to each state’s requirements (VIC, SA, QLD)
- Communicate proactively when timelines shift
- Ask the right questions and follow established processes
- Accommodate frequent operational changes, including NCC updates and internal efficiency improvements
One team
Simonds treats offshore and onshore staff equally, everyone is part of “one team.” This cultural alignment has strengthened trust, consistency, and knowledge-sharing across both sides.

The Outcome
High Reliability & Strong Turnaround Times
Rob reports that the Realcognita team consistently meets agreed timeframes, or proactively communicates if delays arise, ensuring predictability during peak periods.
Exceptional Communication
Both Rob and Thomas highlight the team’s strong communication skills, with no language barriers, seamless Teams training, and fast clarification when needed.
High Learning Agility
Realcognita has shown strong capability in learning new tasks quickly, often mastering new workflows within weeks, and fully embedding them within months.
Consistency During Peak Workload
During end-of-month sales surges, Realcognita “never complains” and works diligently to complete as many jobs as possible.
Strong Work Ethic & Attitude
The team’s approachability, willingness to learn, and commitment to doing the job right has earned consistently positive internal feedback.
Future Outlook
As the residential market strengthens and housing demand increases, Simonds anticipates the need for greater operational capacity across its front-end and production functions. Realcognita is expected to play a key role in supporting this growth, continuing as an integrated extension of the Simonds team and helping the business scale efficiently as volumes rise.
Realcognita has proven itself to be a highly capable partner, especially in the critical early file assessment stages where buildability and compliance set the tone for the entire customer journey.
